A Haunting Experience
Everyone likes a good scare come Halloween and what better way to shriek with delight than a good old fashioned haunted scare! Covid may be making it trickier for larger group gatherings but that doesn’t mean ghosts stop wandering. This year, in 2020, we’ve proven that we can navigate through obstacles with innovative ideas and Oaks Park Haunted Drive Thru has done exactly that this Halloween season. Following all Covid guidelines, Oaks Park Haunted Drive Thru takes you through frightful stories of your choosing as you watch, listen and sit back in terror within the confines of your vehicle. Live actors, special effects and audio all create a haunting experience that you’ll be sure to never forget. Here’s the link for Oaks Park Haunted Drive Thru.
All The Pumpkins!
Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins, oh my! It’s hard to resist these classic fall favorites. As Halloween sets upon us we find ourselves swinging into full fall mode with sweaters, hot chocolate and yes, all the pumpkins! Whether we just like to have them around for decor or carve them up to make our favorite recipes, pumpkins are a fall necessity and it’s not just buying them from your local grocer that will do. Part of the pumpkin experience is heading to your favorite pumpkin patch and experiencing all it has to offer. Hayrides, pumpkin sling shots, barn animals, haystacks and corn mazes are just some of the pumpkin patch amenities one can enjoy. Local pumpkin patches like Bi-zi Farms and Joe’s Place Farm are just a couple of our favorites. If a covid friendly version is more up your alley, try Pumpkin Lane Drive-Thru at Pomeroy Farms. Wherever you go, you’ll be sure to have a great time.
Trunk Or Treats
There’s a lot of speculation on what Halloween night will look like this year. Will neighborhoods be passing out candy or just leaving a bowl by the door for children to grab? Only time will tell but if you’re one that likes having a plan there are more than enough trunk or treats going on in the area. Many churches are getting creative this Halloween by putting on social distancing events like trunk or treats where kids can still feel like they are getting the Halloween candy experience. Activate church is just one of the many local churches that’s sure to provide spooky treats and fun this Halloween night. Volunteers are decorating their trunks and bringing all the candy to hand out to kids walking by. A frightfully themed photo booth will be waiting for those who desire to capture the night and their cafe will be open as well. Learn more about the Activate Trunk or Treat event.
